Robert Radosavljevic is an expert associate of the Institute. He is working as a development technologist in a research laboratory and as a development manager in a company that specializes in biotechnology and innovative methods of extraction. His specific interests and fields of action are: extraction, Subcritical and supercritical fluids, membrane separation technology and purification by column chromatography. He began his professional development by working on a laboratory extractor designed for high pressure extraction and continued it by focusing on the transfer of the developed laboratory process on a semi-industrial level. A logical consequence of this was a focus on setting certification and validation processes in the domains of good manufacturing practice (GMP). Special fields of Robert Radosavljević's interest are advanced methods of extraction without the use of toxic organic solvents and their implementation in industrial processes. Robert Radosavljević is fervently in favour of the full utilization of plant raw materials and the idea of multiple extraction and separation methods before final disposal plant residue specified as waste. He is a member of MENSA International and one of the founders of the non-governmental organization dealing with the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development.
In contact with cannabinoids, Robert Radosavljević actively pursues the implementation of new "green" techniques that will: reduce the time of extraction, reduce the use of solvents, increase the yield of the process and ensure the production of high quality and safe products – products with no traces of toxic solvents. In recent years, he has been focusing on the separation and purification of target cannabinoids with the application of innovative methods and a combination of different techniques.
For his thesis on environmental protection at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad Robert Radosavljević received an award from the French Chamber of Commerce in the area of environmental protection and alternative energy. There he completed his Master’s studies with honours and became the Master Engineer in field of environmental engineering. Robert Radosavljević continued his doctoral studies. He is also engaged in patenting innovative process in the field of extraction of vegetable raw materials. Robert Radosavljević is the author of several scientific papers that were presented at international scientific conferences or published in leading scientific journals in the field of extraction, such as the Journal of Supercritical Fluids.
